What is Endourology?

Endourology is a modern technique where surgeries are performed using thin cameras (endoscopes) inserted through the body's natural urinary passages. This means no external cuts, no stitches, and minimal blood loss.

Dr. Chetan Sharma is an expert in Endourological procedures. Using the latest Holmium Laser and Flexible Ureteroscopes, he can reach deep inside the kidney to crush stones into dust or treat tumors with extreme precision.

Keyhole surgery for large kidney stones. A tiny puncture (pencil size) is made in the back to remove large stone fragments.

Removal of stones stuck in the Ureter (food pipe of the kidney) using a rigid scope and laser/lithotripsy.

For Ureteric Stones

TURBT

Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumor. Endoscopic removal of early-stage bladder cancer tumors without open surgery.

For Bladder Tumors

OIU (Stricture)

Common Questions

Is Endourology painful? +
Most procedures are virtually painless post-surgery because there are no external cuts. Mild discomfort during urination may persist for 1-2 days.
How soon can I go home? +
For RIRS and URSL, patients are usually discharged within 24 hours. For Mini-PCNL, a stay of 2 days might be required.
Will the stone come back? +
Surgery removes the current stone, but recurrence depends on your diet and water intake. Dr. Chetan will provide a diet chart to prevent future stones.
